The prophecies of Zechariah 5 is one of many very important prophecies that reveal about key developments in the social order of mankind.
Any serious readers of the Scripture (of which the Christian Bibles in it numerous translation has been interpreted) would note that the Scripture do not commonly concerned itself with the happenings in the world of mankind. Except when these events and history intersect with mankind who have entered into a covenant relationship to accept the ALMIGHTY GOD as the their GOD and KING.
The Scripture's focus and context are mostly exclusively just about GOD and HIS dealing with mankind still in a relationship with HIM to acknowledge HIM as the ALMIGHTY CREATOR of all things.
This is of course beginning from the Rainbow Covenant period (which is from when Noah and his family exited the Ark until before the great Day of Judgment) after GOD ended HIS relationship with mankind and destroyed all the wicked mankind in the Antediluvian flood.
In the vision given to the Prophet Zechariah in the Book of Zechariah 5 is a one the less common vision from GOD that deal with mankind who have not entered into a (true) covenant relationship with HIM. This vision deals with a whole world of mankind plagiarizing the Word of GOD, the Scripture of Truth, in their quest to rule as the religion of GOD. That is the target of the curse of Zechariah 5.
All the three women mentioned in the Book of Zechariah 5 calmed themselves as the religions of ALMIGHTY GOD to usurp HIS Holy Name to advance their religions.
Two of these three women (symbolizing two religions) also used these claims to wage violent wars of carnage and savage conquest in their quest to rule over the whole world of mankind. It was the same quest of Nimrod (to rule over all his peers) which GOD ended by dividing the language of all mankind living in those times and scatter them to various region of the planet.
The first thing to know about the many prophecies from the visions given to the Prophet Zechariah is that they were specific in their fulfillment to during the New Covenant period.
The prophecy of Zechariah 5 was about three major world religions (symbolized by three women ‘harlots’) that plagiarized the Covenant of ALMIGHTY GOD. Two of these three religions (the later two) used their lies as the religions of GOD to spread their deceits, deceptions, and violent murderous reign over the world of mankind, beginning not long after the Church of GOD was founded in 30 CE.
Zechariah 5 opens with the Prophet Zechariah seeing a vision of a flying scroll (i.e., a roll of writings). This scroll (i.e., the writing on it) symbolizes a curse that has gone out over all the world.
The targets or subjects of these two curses of Zechariah 5 are revealed in Zechariah 5 verse 5 to 11.
Let us examine the curses and who they target.
“This is the curse that goes out over the face of the whole earth: ‘Every thief shall be expelled,’ according to this side of the scroll; and, ‘Every perjurer shall be expelled,’ according to that side of it.”

The word interpreted in many Bibles as “thief” is more accurately translated as ‘those who steal’. Same different, many would say. No, not really. What these ‘harlot’ women steals are not properties but words, the Word (i.e., the Scripture) of the ALMIGHTY GOD to claim that the Scripture (i.e., the Word of GOD) as their religious “scripture” or part of their religious “scripture”. Then using just the selectively selected parts and pieces of the Scripture to use it to say whatever they spun it into saying, with lavish twist (i.e., twisted lies) added. They claimed that the Scripture is about them, particularly their supreme leaders claimed as the ordained or nominated greatest supreme leaders of ALMIGHTY GOD.
They twisted and spun these selected pieces, vcrses, and passages of Scripture taken totally without valid or rational context at all to say whatever they wanted these twisted pieces of plagiarized Scripture to say.
With the word interpreted in most Bibles as “perjurer”. The actual word is ‘those who swear falsely’. And no, it is not the same as a perjurer. The context for that passage is those who swear falsely using GOD's name.
“I will send out the curse,” says the Lord of hosts;
“It shall enter the house of the thief (i.e., plagiarizers)
And the house of the one who swears falsely by My name.
It shall remain in the midst of his house
And consume it, with its timber and stones.”
Zechariah 5:4
GOD has sent out a curse against all those who steal GOD’s words, all those who plagiarize the Word and the authority of GOD through declaring the lies that they speak are GOD’s Words and Truth.
And another curse against all those who swore falsely by GOD’s name. These same three religions that have since their inception (as religions) been declaring themselves to be speaking for GOD (that they are the religion and servants of GOD).
These curses are twofold. The (initial) curse is the evil works of these three women (i.e., religions) described in Zechariah 5 verses 5 to 9. This curse is the violence and carnage wreaked on the world of mankind since their founding (i.e., when these religions were invented).
The (main) curse is the curse from GOD and relates to the day (a one-hundred-year event) of the Great Judgment at the very and ultimate end of the age of man. This is GOD's punishment of all these plagiarizers and blasphemers when GOD required an account from all mankind (not called by GOD and endowed with HIS HOLY SPIRIT) who had ever lived from Adam and Eve down to the last person born just before the Great Judgment.
Next, ON the ‘basket’ (i.e., a container for holding produce) going forth.
All these three women symbolized wickedness (Zechariah 5 verse 8). Those who do wickedness plagiarizing GOD's Word and Name to blaspheme GOD and His truth.
The two women, coming with the ‘wind in their wings’, symbolized the two religions that would grow to become the world's two largest religions today, both having their root (i.e., source of origin) in the religion symbolized by the woman shown sitting inside the ‘basket covered under the lid’. This first woman sitting inside the ‘basket’ symbolizes another (earlier) religion that arose before these two, but its spread or growth is kept in checked (symbolized by the ‘heavy’ or ‘lead disc’ cover).
So I said to the angel who talked with me, “Where are they carrying the basket?”
And he said to me, “To build a house for it in the land of Shinar; when it is ready, the basket will be set there on its base.”
Zechariah 5:10 – 11
The land of Shinar is Babylon (Genesis 11:1 – 2). Babylon, if you are unfamiliar or in ignorance, was the first nation or kingdom in the world of mankind. This was sometime after Noah and his family exited the Ark that preserved their lives from the Antediluvian world’s extermination.
Nimrod (Genesis 10 verse 8 – 10), the son of Cush, the grandson of Ham, and the great-grandson of Noah, became the first king not long after GOD placed mankind under the Rainbow Covenant to let mankind become basically become the animals (as opposed to the mankind made in the image and likeness of GOD, or sons of GOD) they all lusted to be.
Cush begot Nimrod; he began to be a mighty one on the earth. He was a mighty hunter before the Lord; therefore it is said, “Like Nimrod the mighty hunter before the Lord.” And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, Erech, Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.
Genesis 10:8 – 10
What is so important about Shinar or Babylon? In today’s world, it is just one small nation among hundreds. But from Scripture’s context, it was the birthplace of all the nations of mankind. It was the birthplace where the first nation in the world of mankind has their origin. Here was where Nimrod became the first king of the first kingdom of mankind. That is not all; it was also the birthplace where religion first began in the world of mankind.
When Nimrod made himself the first king of mankind, he also made himself a god, a God King to rule over all his peers, the rest of mankind of his times.
After Nimrod was killed, his concubine conspired to rule in his place and got herself impregnated so she could declare herself his queen, pregnant with his unborn son. That was why in the Book of Revelation the Great Harlot (representing in symbolism the origin of religion in mankind) was shown in the Scripture as saying to herself ‘for she says in her heart, I sit as queen, and am no widow, and will not see sorrow’.
One of the very clearest proofs that the Scripture is the Word of GOD is in the consistency of its records and messages spanning over millennia and numerous authors. From the first book of Genesis to the last Book of Revelation, there is a consistency in the main theme of its messages. The message and communication of GOD is consistent from beginning to end. In this instance, the account of Nimrod (in Genesis) carried an integral connection to that of the great whore or harlot (of an adulterous woman laying claims to be a legit and legal wife) in the Book of Revelation.
It is important to understand the context for the curse of Zechariah 5 that they relates to the event involving these three women (Zechariah 5 verse 5 – 11). The curse is on these three women and their acts and activities (i.e., what they did and have been doing after they rose up as religions and began scamming mankind from their rise to today).
The main thing you need to understand about the symbolism of women in Scripture is that Scripture uses women to symbolize either the virtuous or the wicked, the faithful and the unfaithful. The symbolism is not literally about women and has nothing to do with gender but refers to mankind generally.
The ‘faithful’ refers to those who fear and obey GOD. The ‘unfaithful’ refers to those having evil liaisons, symbolic as having sexual affairs or adulteries with the world (i.e., with pagan, heathen, idols, false gods, Satan, and demons) denoted in Scripture as whoredom and harlotry. The Scripture is explicitly clear on one thing: you cannot serve GOD (i.e., be faithful to GOD) and also the world (i.e., have liaison with pagan and heathen philosophy and practices).
In this vision, these three women obviously were not the faithful ones.
Another thing to note is the symbolism of ‘wings’ and ‘birds with wings’. Birds of prey and the wings of birds of prey symbolize divine or GODly power or empowerment. Whereas birds of clarion and wings of birds of clarion symbolize satanic/demonic power or empowerment.
These three women are ‘harlots’, the unfaithful, not the righteous.
The curses are targeted at all these three women and what they represent, including all those who subscribe to and spread their lies. As mentioned earlier, these curses are twofold: one, the consequence of the acts and activities of these three pagan religions. And the other is the punishment from GOD during the time of the great Judgment.
Who then are these three religions symbolized by these three women? The clue to their identity is that the latter two owed their basis and rise as religions to the one same single common source. This source is the first woman inside ‘basket’, the first of these three religions.
This first religion was Judaism. Judaism became nascent not long after the Jews were returned by King Cyrus to rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem. Not long after the Jews were returned by Cyrus to rebuild the temple, the Jews began backsliding, returning to their unfaithful ways in not honoring the Ten Commandments (aka the Old) Covenant their forefathers entered into at Mount Sinai with GOD.
While these returned Jews understood that the destruction of their kingdom by Babylon was because of their failure to keep GOD’s Commandments, they focused solely on the Sabbath commandment, over regulated and ‘ritualized” it instead of obeying all the commandments of GOD. They overregulated the keeping of the Sabbath, making a mockery of GOD in portraying GOD as a micromanaging tyrant.
Not only did the religious Jews focused exclusively on the Sabbath, they literally broke all the rest of the Commandments of GOD, totally ignoring all the warnings of the Prophets (such as Zechariah and Malachi) that GOD sent to correct them. During His three-and-a-half-year ministry, Jesus similarly spoke against the Jews for breaking the Commandments of GOD, highlighting their wickedness, calling them hypocrites, serpents, and a brood of vipers. But the Jews not just ignored HIS correction, but went on to have Pilate send Jesus to be crucified.
Until today, all three of the so-called Abrahamic religions still either think or believe that Judaism is the religion from Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (i.e., the Scriptural Patriarch) when nothing is further from the truth. Judaism is the religion of pagan Jews, which the Jews invented not after they were returned by Cyrus the Great to rebuild the Temple of Jerusalem. The Jews, exactly like all the rest of humankind (with few individual exceptions) since the time of the Tower of Babel, have never wanted to obey GOD beyond just giving lip service.
Judaism is a pagan religion that the religious Jews invented (i.e., conceived) to replace the requirement to obey GOD. That was why GOD brought an end to their occupation of the Holy Land almost two thousand years ago, letting Imperial Rome burn down the Temple of Jerusalem. Today, after almost two thousand years, the Jews have finally been allowed to return in order for them to fulfil the Second Coming of JESUS CHRIST.
This is so that during the last year of the three-and-a-half years coming Tribulation, the prophecies of the Jews finally accepting and acknowledging JESUS CHRIST as the MESSIAH will be fulfilled (at the appointed time) according to GOD’s Word.
Of the remainder two women of the Zechariah 5’s vision, the first and earlier religion is the Great Harlot of Revelation 17 verse 1. This is the religion the world thinks and believes is “Christianity”, but the root and source of this religion was the religion invented by the wife of Nimrod (Genesis 10 verse 8 to 10), who conceived a son (with some other man) after Nimrod’s death in order to secure his throne so as to be able to rule as his queen. That is why in the Book of Revelation she is revealed as the Babylonian mystery religion (Revelation 17 verse 5).
This religion, which this work termed as the Christmas religion, has its beginning in a man plagiarizing the office of the so-called “Bishop of Rome” (which categorically did not exist in the true Christianity that JESUS founded). After his man's death, a subsequent successor to his fraudulent office managed to secure the sanction (and support) of the Imperial Roman Emperor Constantine to convene a council for the is so-called “Bishop of Rome” to lay his fraudulent claims to be the de facto ruler and implicitly the actual god (as the one who rule) over all “Christianity”.
But that is not all. This religion is not a singular religion but one that spawned numerous others. That is why in Revelation 17 she is called the ‘mother of harlots and abominations of the earth’. This religion symbolized by this great harlot has been the great murderer of the disciples of JESUS CHRIST (portrayed in Revelation 17 as ‘drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus’).
The third and final woman of Zechariah 5’s vision is Islam. Islam, according to the claims of its founder (per most encyclopedia), originates when he was forty years of age and was “meditating” in a dark cave when “an angel” claimed as “ Gabriel” commanded, forced, or compelled him to read, recite, or chant some “magical or miraculous scripture verses” when he was “meditating or isolating” in a dark cave.
The most obvious thing to know about these two later religions is that they were/are violent warring religions. Until these two religions arrived in the world, the religions of mankind mainly exist as entities that scam mankind to scare the living daylights from them with scary threats as well as to tempt them with promises of blessing in prosperity, bountiful harvest, health, progeny, spouses, etc. But never about waging violent wars of carnage and sadistic torture, to rule the world of mankind.
The primary agenda (and explicitly avowed goal) of these two women ‘harlot’ symbolising two violent murderous warring religion which soon after their establishment (sometime after their founding) commences their wars of conquest and murders to subjugate the nations of the world in their quest to rule over all of mankind (which thankfully they were not able to succeed).
These two religions went on their avowed goal and agenda for much of their beginning years through to until they were no longer able to do so whether from losing the political clout to do so, losing their military domination among the nations, or from changes in the social order of mankind.
Today, while one of these two religions, the former, because it has mostly lost its political clout to enforce its rule over the nations for the moment, is non longer actively seeking to pursue it rules over the whole world. But this will very quickly change not too far from now when this religion again gain the political clout to do so.
The last of these religions has over the centuries, also lost much of its clout and prowess to pursue its agenda to rule over the world of mankind. But it has never lost its quest to do so. While in many places where it has the majority numbers and consequently significant to sufficient impunity, this religion continues to actively pursue domination over the minority population requiring all within its ambit of power impunity to obey all of its requirement and to accede to its demanded supremacy over all of mankind as the religion of its declared supreme god.
In areas where this evil religion is not able to rule, it actively pursues its declared supremacy to rule over all the nations as the religion of its “almighty god” (declared as having 99 names and rewarding its believers with sex orgies with copious female virgins in heaven) through advancing its claimed “God's law” declared as the supreme laws that rules all its adherents regardless the nations these adherents reside it. Implicitly declaring and requiring all the nations to recognize and acknowledge it as the supreme religion of its god, with the supreme sovereignty to rule the world.
